The Studio

The Greycomm Studio is a state-of-the-art production facility that is a mix of traditional and IP based technology. We work with formats and technologies such as Ultra High Definition, High Dynamic Range, Broadcast HD.

This provides a learning environment that is conducive to all learner types and exposes students to current and emerging technologies.

This experience is instrumental in providing the hands-on skills that allows the participant to equip themselves with the skills to obtain key internships and ultimately, to obtain careers in their desired field.

We have a great alumni group that have achieved great levels in their career. They are part of the Greycomm family and aid our members in connecting with opportunities to build skills and advance in their careers.

The Classroom

Greycomm is an extension of the Communication Department and also operates as a teaching facility. Throughout the year, we conduct training sessions and webinars that encourage further learning in digital tools through the Adobe Creative Cloud through programs such as Adobe Premiere, After Effects, Audition and Illustrator.

We also hold sessions that build towards industry recognized certification and proficiency in broadcast technologies.

The Production Field

The initial learning takes place in the classroom, but we believe that the majority of the learning takes place in the field. In addition to the Backpack Video Production classes, we provide opportunities for students to apply their skills in real-world scenarios. These skills aid in achieving greater proficiency and confidence in the necessary skills to produce quality multimedia content.

Study Tours / Backpack Productions

Study Tour

Students traveled to London, England and Paris, France as part of the second annual Study Tour.

Participants captured content and interviews, which they produced as vlogs and travel stories that highlight their experience.

Many of the students also participated in the Backpack Travel Production class, taught by Greycomm founder and director,
H. Jay Dunmore @hjdthree. This is an optional, free elective course that shows students how to assemble their media into video blogs and highlight stories.

We’re looking forward to continuing our
backpack and international travel experiences in 2024!
